UT Student Demographics Through the Years
This page is in no way comprehensive, just a compilation of data I was able to find through various iterations of The Cactus yearbook.

1982: “The University’s official enrollment in 1982 was 45,825. Of that number, 37,776 or 82.4 percent were Caucasian; 3,576 or 7.8 percent were Mexican-American and 1,160 or 2.5 percent were black.” (The Cactus 1982, 12)
1986: Minority Affairs Committee is formed with the goal of raising the university’s black student population, which was 3% of the student body at the time. (The Cactus 1986, 287)
1989: White students comprise 74.3% of the entire student body, while Black students comprise 3.5%, Hispanic students 9.9%, Asian American students 5.3%, and American Indian Students 0.2%. (The Cactus 1989, 251)
